Economic opportunity is the cornerstone of the American dream. However, today many Texans are not getting the education and health care they need to succeed in the 21st century information age economy.

Texas must change and invest in people if our families are to have a bright future. We must provide all Texans with the education and health care they need to realize their potential and truly join the middle class. Otherwise, our state will have an uneducated, uncompetitive workforce, a declining standard of living, a shrinking middle class, and social polarization.  (Murdock, The New Texas Challenge (2003).

• Health Insurance for All Kids

• First Class Public Schools and Teachers For All Students

These programs will give all Texas families a real opportunity to succeed. Quality, all-day early education provides kids the strong start they need to be ready to learn in kindergarten. First-class public schools ensure that all our students have well trained, certified teachers so they can receive the education to reach their potential. Health insurance for all kids allows our young to develop healthy minds and bodies.
